The Mixolydium Group

The Mixolidyum Group is an agency that brings together renowned artists from the Brazilian music and international jazz. We manage tours and schedule performances at concert halls, festivals and clubs around the world. We work closely with event organizers and promotion agencies, building the careers of our artists.

The Mixolydium brand refers to the Greek mode, 'mixolydian', which reflects a mixed mode, that is, it is a fusion of the intervallic relationship of the second tetrachord of the Lydian mode with the first tetrachord of the Dorian mode. It is widely used in Jazz and also at the "Brazilian baião" and somewhat bluesy sound at the top of the scale. The mixolydian mode is identical to the major scale but with a flattened 7th step. The flat 7 in the mixolydian mode makes this scale suitable for playing over dominant 7th chords.
